📣 We have moved! All of the most up-to-date information on WebPT Products can be found in its new home on WebPT Discover.

Locations Initial Setup

WebPT Local preloads most of your location information so you’ll only have to make small adjustments or additions upon logging in. First, ensure the preloaded information is accurate, then fill in additional information for each listing to improve your search rankings. Start by checking out our video instructions or refer to the guide below.

This guide will show you how to complete the profile of your listing so that WebPT Local can start syncing the data with online directories. Repeat the process for each location. Check out our video instructions or refer to the guide below.

Setup Instructions

Note: Skip to step 3 if you only manage a single clinic location.

  1. Go to the Locations tab on the left-side menu to review the locations that have been preloaded to WebPT Local.
  2. Click the name of the first location you want to update. Note: See the Locations Overview article to learn more about this section of WebPT Local
  3. Navigate to the Profile tab of the clinic.
  4. You’ll reach the Basic Data section of the location’s profile. Here you can review the General Info, Contact Info, and Busines Info sections. Make sure all data fields are filled in and accurate. Taking the time to do so ensures that your listings throughout the web are as informative and persuasive as possible to future patients. Note: Click into a field to see directions on how to fill it in.
  5. Below, we’ll describe a few specific fields to help you fill out the needed information.
    1. Categories: Describes which business category your clinic belongs to. Up to five business categories can be chosen. Place the most important one first. Enter the category’s name, then select the category in the drop-down menu.
    2. We recommend starting with Health & Medicine > Physical Therapy Clinic.
    3. Opening Hours: You can specify hours for each day or select range of days which share the same business hours.
    4. Click Add time period, to specify hours for another day or range.
    5. Opening Hours Notes: If necessary, give additional information on your opening hours (i.e. Special opening times, appointments, house calls).
    6. Special Opening Hours: Use this section to provide details for days where the hours are different than normal such as holidays.
    7. Note: These should be done as far in advance as possible. WebPT Local pushes out your updates immediately, but the endpoints have their own cycle for updating data and sometimes that's a few days.
    8. Imprint: This is an optional field. In certain countries, such as Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, businesses may be required by law to include a statement of ownership on their web channels. Currently, submitting an imprint is only possible on Facebook.
    9. Keywords: Choose up to 10 keywords that best describe the types of services your clinic provides.
  6. When you are finished entering this information, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen. A pop-up message will appear if there are any errors that need to be corrected.
  7. The Rich Data tab allows for optional pieces of information you can fill in to help customers better understand what you offer. Review the text under each field for guidance on how to fill them out. Note: You do not need to complete these to reach 100% profile completeness.
  8. The Photos & Videos tab allows you to upload images Logos and pictures of your clinic to be used for directories. We highly recommend having at least a logo and a couple of photos of your clinic.
  9. Once you complete the needed information, click the Sync now button. Then confirm the Sync in the pop-up window to have WebPT Local start pushing out the information to the connected directories.
  10. You’ll then want to enable the Auto-sync feature so that any future updates to your profile automatically get sent out to directories.
  11. You have now completed your profile information. Note: If the profile completeness is still not at 100%, go back and check what fields are available to complete. The more accurate and thorough your profile is, the better the results will be for search engine rankings.

Profile Notifications

If you see the following notification, it means that recent updates are being synced with the online directories where you are represented.

If you don’t have the auto-sync feature enabled, you will see the Profile Changes message below. If you intend on manually engaging the sync process, be sure to click the Sync now button after having saved any profile changes.
