Location Directories

The Directories section of WebPT Local allows you to see the online directories where your profile information is being distributed to. Helping ensure that your profile is visible and accurate in the directories that are most important to you. You can also verify the connection status of your Google and Facebook accounts.

The available directories are broken down into three categories; Social Networks & Apps, General Publishers, and Map & Navigation Services. Clicking on a directory will take you to the webpage where your profile is located (not available for all directories).

Note: Skip to step 3 if you only manage a single clinic location.

  1. Go to Locations from the left side menu.
  2. Click the name of the location for which you want to see the directories.
  3. Navigate to the Directories tab of the clinic.

Directory Sync Status

For each directory where your profile exists there will be an icon that indicates the sync status.

Wherever Safeguard is active, it means your profile data is being distributed to those partners. WebPT local ensures your data remains accurate through a continuous process. The platform checks daily to see if there are changes to your data across the web and syncing them with your profile data in WebPT Local.

If WebPT Local finds inconsistencies with a directory where Safeguard is active, the duplicate process kicks in to correct the profile information. Below we describe the sync status cycle:

a. The process starts at the green shield with the sync icon. Indicating WebPT Local identified a directory listing profile with incorrect data.

Safeguard active: Listings being updated, e.g. when a listing has been created but the verification is outstanding (Google), or with Bing when the location details are still being quality-checked.

b. The shield with a green checkmark appears once WebPT Local has provided the out of sync directory with correct information.

Safeguard active: Listing has been submitted, meaning that all details saved in WebPT Local have been submitted to the directory/source.

However, it is not possible to confirm in real-time which details are published on the live-listing. For example, this applies to in-car navigation systems that only show updates after a software update.

c. Finally, you will see the fully green shield when WebPT Local confirms the directory listing of your clinic has been updated.

Safeguard active: Listings In Sync, means that all details are in sync and the profile information saved in WebPT Local has been published on the directory and the listing is up-to-date. Location data is synced, checked regularly and updated if necessary.

Listings Requiring Attention

Safeguard inactive: Cannot be updated / Listings requiring your attention, for example, with Google or Facebook you’ll see this when the accounts are not yet connected. This may also happen when the opening hours or category is missing and the listing cannot be created due to missing information in mandatory fields.

Listing cannot be updated: Listings that cannot be updated / Claimed by others. The profile cannot be created or updated because there is already an existing listing which is claimed by a third party. Action required to release the listing.

Sync Never Started: If you see a “Sync Never Started” notification, this means the location was added to the platform, however, the location’s details have not been submitted to the publishers and no listings have been created or updated.

Listings Widget

This widget keeps a sync status count for your location across all directories. A quick way of getting a sense for your location’s current sync status.

Example: If you see several listings change from a checkmark to a sync icon, this may indicate recently updated profile information is being updated across the directories. You’ll soon see them go back to the green check mark, indicating the directory has been updated.
