Why is connecting Facebook Important?

Facebook is a powerful channel to optimize the online presence of your business and reach out to a great number of customers through a dedicated Facebook Page.

Facebook Pages are not only highly visible within Facebook, whether local searches about your business or services and products you offer, or in users personalized News Feed. They also generally have a good chance of strengthening your rank on Google's local search results.

If you already manage a Facebook Page for your business, you can easily connect to your Facebook account from the Dashboard or Listings pages by completing a few steps, and therefore ensure that your business information on this directory is always up-to-date and regularly checked for consistency.

If there is no existing Facebook Page for your business, that is not a problem - a page will be automatically created as soon as your location data will be submitted to all directories. You only need to connect to your Facebook account to start managing it.

The insights graphs for impressions and clicks of Facebook on the dashboard are empty. Why?

WebPT Local can only retrieve this data after the user has connected their Facebook account.

By connecting WebPT Local to Facebook, the user authorizes WebPT Local to retrieve the insights data directly from Facebook.

I would like to publish on Facebook but it seems that the option is not available. Why?

Make sure the Facebook account has been connected prior to creating a post/offer. If your Facebook account is not connected, WebPT Local is not authorized to publish to your Facebook page on your behalf.

I do not have a Facebook page for my business, can we create one through WebPT Local?

Yes. Follow the instructions on the article, Connecting Facebook. Please keep in mind that a cover photo is a requirement to create a Facebook page. If the location needs a Facebook page to be created, please make sure the location profile contains a cover photo.

I have an existing Facebook page that is unclaimed, can we connect it to WebPT Local?

Yes. However, Facebook removed the ability to claim their business pages via API. Therefore, you must first claim the page through Facebook prior to connecting with WebPT Local. Click here for instructions.

I already have a brand page on Facebook, however, the platform did not find the page and it was not linked. Why?

By definition, brand pages do not have an address. Our system links only business pages or local pages, i.e. pages that have an address listed. If you want to connect a brand page, you can add an address on Facebook which will allow WebPT Local to connect to it.
